My Personal Testimony

I'd like to share my personal testimony of how I became a born again christian, how I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.
I didn't get to attend church on a regular basis. I attended Vacation Bible School a few times and occasionally Sunday school when the church bus would be able to pick me up. The very first time I prayed the prayer to "receive Jesus into my heart" (Romans 10:9-10 (NKJV) vs.9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. vs 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. )
I was approximately 9-10 years old in the basement VBS classroom at Fairhaven Christian Church. I can still remember exactly what we had for refreshments that night and the craft that we made and my bus drivers name. The bible scripture we had to learn that night was simply, "God is Love" which is taken out of 1 John 4:16 (NKJV) -And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him. We were not required to memorize the entire verse.
Unfortunately as I got older I began to grow away from God. Years went by with an occasional visit to church somewhere which resulted in me feeling awful by the time I left because I knew I wasn't where I should be spiritually speaking. I wasn't living a very God pleasing life. I had began to do drugs and I met my childrens father. I had my first child at 17, my second at 18 and my third at 21 years old. I was divorced by 22. Life continued to spiral for several years later. Depression, Oppression, Misery, Dread and physical illness. A lot of unhappiness and not knowing how to fix it or get over it!!!!
My life journey brought me to First Assembly of God in Franklin in February 1999. I have to admit I wasn't extremely sold out just yet. As I watched my husband and my children become involved in church and a positive change had taken place with their lives, I was ready to make a commitment. A commitment for the rest of my life. At that point I made everything right with God (1 John 1:9 (NKJV)-If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. ).
I'm currently our church secretary and have been now for over 2 years. That alone is ordained by God, not because of my abilities or background. (Revelation 11: 3-Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit saith the Lord of hosts.)
I would like to invite you to receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. If you are willing to receive please pray this prayer and mean it with your heart:
Dear God,
According to Romans chapter 10 verse 9 the Bible says that if I confess with my mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in my heart that Jesus died for my sins and that God raised Him from the dead I will be saved. Right now I confess that I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and He died on the cross for my sins and God raised Him from the dead 3 days later. Right now I ask you to forgive me of all my sins. In Jesus Name, Amen!
If you have prayed this prayer from your heart according to the Bible you are saved, a born again believer, a christian, you are on your way to heaven when you die!

Demonstration of the Spirit

Do you still believe in signs and wonders and miracles today? Would you believe if you saw it with your own eyes? Would you know that it was God Almighty Himself? What would you do if you felt the presence of God so strong as if someone was standing in front of you or that a breeze went passed you as if someone just walked by you? What would you say if you were standing in front of God, face to face? You ask..what's with all the questions???
I'm here to tell you that God still confirms His Word today!!!! What an Awesome God we have! He is as real and alive as you and I. He loves to be loved as any of us do. He gets so excited when we brag on who He is that He just has to show up and bless us. Just like when you were a child and you did something sooo cute or special that revealed the love in your heart to your parents or grandparents and they just picked you up and kissed and loved on you. That's how God sees us and how excited He gets with us!! We make His heart melt so much that He just can't contain Himself with wanting to bless us.
The same with prayer. When in line with what His Word says in the Bible, our prayers get Him so excited that we know who we are through Christ and His Word that when we offer up our prayers to Him, He says....aaaah, yes that's exactly what I said and He can't wait to answer them.
God likes it when we listen and learn about His Word and not just listen but to learn how to do our part in making our prayers become reality. For example: A common telephone. It can be our ability to reach most anyone anywhere, right? But, if we don't pick up the receiver or dial the correct numbers it isn't much good to us or the person we are trying to reach. The same way God gives us the ability to get our prayers answered but if we don't do our part most likely those prayers won't come to pass. There's always that exception just because God is sovereign and He can do whatever He wants. When we pray correctly and do our part in activating the Word of God, He just shows up and confirms what His Word says is true!
If you need healing...You get healed.
If you need deliverance..You get set free.
If you don't know Jesus Christ as Lord of your life...You receive Salvation/Forgiveness of Sins.
Whatever you need...God wants to meet those needs.
Just remember that God isn't Santa Clause...He doesn't walk around just giving presents away and showing off saying look at me look at me!!! He is not selfish or self centerd. He expects respect and invitations to enter into our lives!
If you don't know Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior please get your Bible and turn to Romans 10:9. If you don't have a Bible...you can use the Bible reference as confirmation as to what I'm about to say is what the Bible says at a later time.
Romans 10:9 says That if you confess with your mouth that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Son of God and died on the cross for your sins and rose again 3 days later you will be saved.
Romans 10:10 says that with the mouth confession is made.
If you want to know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior just say this prayer out loud directly to God.
God,
I believe that Jesus is the Son of God and He died on a cross for my sins and that He rose from the grave and now is seated on your right hand. God, forgive me of all my sins. In Jesus Name, Amen!
Now Romans 10:9 just means it's important to tell someone. No secret service christians! Remember it's not religion....It's a relationship! Just like your Dad isn't just family...He's your Dad! Now God is your Father!!!!
If you prayed this pray and meant it with your heart you just experience God demonstrating His Word and demonstration of the Holy Spirit!!!!

Hungry for God's Power

Is there anyone out here that still believes that the same God in the Old Testament still exists and is still as powerful today? It is apparent that many do not believe in God let alone that He still performs signs, wonders and miracles today. Many people may belive in different religions, beliefs, occults and even the athiest believes in some "thing", someone, science or that they see themselves as self made gods. It really seems strange to me that people can believe in statues, witches, satan, stars, the more recruitments into your religion will exist determine your position in the afterlife, becoming a god yourself on a planet where your wives will be eternally pregnant and the imperfect man but they refuse to believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God, The Holy Spirit and the Father of creation! It seems to me that most people are looking for that extra ordinary out of the ordinary but they are looking for it everywhere but where it has always been. Regardless of where you are or what religion you're involved in...if you want to be serious and honestly want to find out if God really exists with you whole heart.. He will reveal Himself to you in someway that you will know it is Him. I'm not trying to bash other people. I believe that people are for the most part serious and passionate about what they believe. I will say that from my own personal experience that once you have opened your heart and mind to whatever the truth may be and ask for it to be revealed to you and be open and willing to accept it even if it goes against what you've previously been taught...God will make Himself real to you as well as open your eyes to the truth. The Bible is a book of many books and it is written by several writers that were guided and influenced by the Holy Spirit. All those who are out there looking and searching for the supernatural you will find it but are you getting what is coming from God? There is a spirit realm! How can people believe in Satanism, Wicah, Astrology, Psychics but not believe in the Supernatural Power of the Almighty God? Well I'm tired of all these other religions (if that's what you want to call them) getting all the publicity. I know that the God who created this universe, the heavens and the earth as well as everything within the earth is real and is still alive and performing sign, wonders and miracles today!!! I'm hungry for God and His Power to begin to explode in a greater way today!!!!
